The NFTY-Northeast nomination procedure is a complex process; many factors were taken into serious consideration in order to create a board that will effectively guide our region. With all of this said, the process is not complete until the region convenes on March 18th at the third Regional Board Meeting of the year. Our nominations are by no means definite, and we welcome all qualified candidates to nominate themselves for a position.

In accordance with Article V of the NFTY-Northeast Constitution, all candidates who wish to run against the nominations must submit a letter of intent to the NFTY-Northeast President (ne-president@nfty.org) no later than Thursday, March 1 at 5:00pm. Letters that arrive after 5pm on Thursday, March 1 will not be considered for this year’s election – no exceptions.

This letter of intent must include the specific position for which the candidate is running and must not exceed 350 words. These new letters of intent will be available to the entire region on the NFTY Northeast website (www.nfty.org/ne) as of Thursday, March 8.

All candidates submitting letters of intent must have conversations with their parents, youth group advisor, and rabbi or cantor regarding the responsibilities and commitment of serving on the NFTY Northeast Executive Board and are required to receive full support from their youth group and congregation before submitting their letter.

Parents, advisors and clergy should email Zoe Summit (ne-president@nfty.org) and Rachel Mersky Woda (rwoda@urj.org) no later than Thursday, March 1 confirming their support of the candidate.

Please keep in mind that between now and March 18, campaigning and lashon hara are not permitted.

L'shalom,

Zoe Summit, President & Rachel Mersky Woda, Advisor
