Announcing the 2010-2011 NFTY Board-elect!


At this year's NFTY Veida, held from February 12-15, 2010 at URJ Greene Family Camp in Bruceville, TX, NFTY elected its leaders for the upcoming 2010-2011 year. Below, please find information about the NFTY Board-elect!

Daniel Landesberg, NFTY President-elect , currently resides on a barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Bradenton. He passes through three cities daily to get to Manatee High School, where he is currently a senior. After a year spent as NFTY-STR MVP, he now serves as NFTY-STR President. Daniel aspires to one day be an anchor on SportsCenter, but for now he enjoys playing sports, making a difference, and finding reasons to smile.

Julia Carpey, Programming Vice President-elect, a senior at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia, currently serves as NFTY-PAR’s President and past NFTY-PAR PVP. Julia is an alumnus of Kutz Camp and NFTY in Israel L’dor V’dor. She enjoys being active, especially when it comes to water sports. When she’s not in the pool with her swim team, you can usually find Julia lounging with her two puppies in front of her fireplace!

Molly Goldberg, Social Action Vice President-elect, a vegetarian, hails from Omaha, Nebraska. Currently serving her second year as MV SAVP and as a member of the Kutz Advisory Board, Molly’s other NFTY endeavors include Kutz Camp and 5 weekends at the RAC. Outside of NFTY, Molly works with children with autism, interns at a research lab specializing in autoimmune diabetes, and serves as Spanish Honors Society President. Molly enjoys slam poetry with her RegBo, soymilk, and Twilight. Action.

Rio Cheyenne Blue, Religious & Cultural Vice President-elect, hails from Carmel, California, and is a senior at Carmel High School. She is a dedicated member of Congregation Beth Israel’s TYG, BIRTY, and a 7-year veteran of Camp Newman. Rio experienced a semester in the land of milk and honey through NFTY’s EIE High School in Israel and currently holds the position of NFTY CWR’s RCVP. Rio’s favorite things to do include: speaking Hebrew, hiking, and playing the violin.

Aly Pavela, Membership & Communications Vice President-elect, is from sunny Northern California! She is currently the MVP of NFTY-CWR (the region of love). She has spent the last two summers in Israel and at Kutz Camp in Regional Board Track. She has also been CVP of her TYG, and is a two-time section editor of her school newspaper. Aly is an avid hiker, and loves fleece jackets, chapstick, frozen yogurt, film photography, and giggling.
