Binah: Jewish Learning Institute for Teens

Pursuing social justice and participating in social action are driving values of our Reform Movement. Much like those who came before us, we face real problems in our world that require real solutions. Over the course of this weekend, we will examine issues that are both historically and currently relevant to our lives as Reform Jews. We will move towards solutions that can shape both our individual actions as well as those of our wider Jewish community.

Participation in Events

All participants are expected to participate in the entire event. Please contact arogers@urj.org with any questions or for more information. We do not prorate registration fees for any registrants. Due to commitments for food, beverage, supplies and other event costs, our fees are set at a full package rate.

Refunds & Cancellations

If you need to cancel, the registration fees you paid will be refunded as follows:

  • Through March 6, 2014 – 90% of the registration fees paid
  • Through March 13, 2014 – 75% of the registration fees paid
  • Through March 20, 2014 – 50% of the registration fees paid

After March 20, 2014 we will not be able to issue any refunds for cancellation. If you have a documented medical emergency and must cancel after March 20, 2014 you will be refunded 75% of the registration fees you paid.

Please allow up to six weeks after the conclusion of the event for your refund to be processed. If you would like your refund amount to be processed as a credit balance, the funds may be applied to any NFTY regional event taking place before June 30, 2014. Please let us know that you would like a credit balance when you email us to request a cancellation refund.

All cancellation requests must be in writing. We will accept cancellations by email to nftyregistrar@urj.org . We’re sorry, but we cannot accept cancellations over the phone.

Travel Information

PLANE OR BUS:
If you will travel to the event by plane, please fly into Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG).  If you take Megabus, please arrive at the downtown Cincinnati stop. Transportation will be provided from the aiport and bus stop to the HUC-JIR Campus. Please book flights or buses to arrive between 12:00 pm and 4:00 p.m. on Friday to meet our transportation.

Participants should book flights and buses to depart after 2:30p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2014.

If you book your travel outside of these parameters, transportation to HUC's campus will be at your expense.

CAR:
Participants may arrive by auto if they are driven by an adult over the age of 21. NFTY Policy does not allow teens to drive themselves or others to, from or during overnight events. Please arrive by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2014 and depart by noon on Sunday, March 30, 2014. Directions to the HUC Cincinnati Campus.

Health & Safety Form

All participants must have a 2013-2014 NFTY Health and Safety Authorization Form on file with their regional advisor.

  • If this is your first event of the year (June 1, 2013 to July 15, 2014), a signed and completed form must be submitted as part of your registration for this event.

Confirmation Letters
Participants will receive an e-mail confirmation one to two weeks before the event. This confirmation will include details on meeting the event transportation at the Airport or bus station as well as other important information regarding the event including a packing list.
Packing List
Participants should pack casual clothing. You are also encouraged to bring spending money for meals during travel. We will be providing meals from Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast. Please leave valuables at home. Do not bring jewelry, electronic devices or large amounts of cash. Each participant is responsible for his/her belongings. A packing list will be included in the confirmation email.
