For decades NFTY has been sponsoring outstanding teen weekend retreats, summer programs and travel programs in Israel and Europe. Throughout, NFTY has earned a well-deserved reputation for aspiring to provide the highest standard of health, safety and security in all its youth programs. The foundation of the success of NFTY is the understanding that the health, safety and security of participants, staff and adults attending NFTY events are always our highest priority. Every decision regarding NFTY events takes the well-being of all involved as our first and foremost consideration.
We are cautious and conservative. With appropriate safety protocols in place, NFTY provides comprehensive learning programs focused on self-discovery in a healthy and safe environment. Parents can reach the NFTY senior supervisors on-site 24-hours a day for the duration of the program. Contingency plans are in place - and can be implemented if necessary - to move groups to safety.
NFTY participants and parents must sign the NFTY Code of Conduct, signifying their willingness to abide by all rules, regulations and safety guidelines throughout the program. NFTY staff members and participants receive a thorough orientation regarding expectations for appropriate behavior and safety and security procedures and protocols.
We have a staff in residence at the NFTY Convention of approximately 100 trained adults. This includes URJ senior staff, Camp Directors and Assistant Directors, NFTY Advisors, NFTY Managers of Youth Programs, and a team of dedicated college students.
All youth participants will be carefully supervised. Staff will be on duty in hotel hallways late at night and will be working according to protocols set in conjunction and in coordination with hotel security. Hotel security will have officers on duty throughout our time at the hotel.
We will make every effort to ensure that the NFTY Convention is a safe, secure and meaningful Jewish experience for all involved.
