Events

LTI : “Leadership Training Institute”; our first NFTY-CWR event of the year, dedicated to TYG and extended board leadership training. (September 13, 2008)
CMC : “Central West Machon Conclave”; the second event of the year will have an Israel theme. (October 24-26, 2008)
Conclave : Another name for a regional event. Where you are now?
Convention : Held every other year, where all 19 regions meet for a several day event. Last Convention had over 1500 NFTYites, and this year’s will have similar numbers (it will be a party). Last year it was in Philadelphia (home of cream cheese, cheese steak, and Rocky Balboa).
Fall - Inter : “Fall-Inter”; the third CWR event of the year. Home of the NFTY Prom. (Dec. 12-14, 2008).
MTC : “Mitzvah Torah Corps”; our final CWR event of the year where we participate in a social action event and say our goodbyes. (May 1-3, 2009).
Spring Conclave : CWR’s spring event. Home of regional elections and the second regional board meeting. (March 20-22, 2009).

At Conclaves

BIG FUN!: This is the Saturday night activity and it is always written in Caps. Needless to say, there are copious amounts of fun…
Closing Circle: How we end our days at NFTY. We stand in a circle and sing.
Code of Conduct : The behavioral/ethical agreement you signed to come to this event (the rules). Also known as the Brit Kehilla. Know the code…
General Board Meeting : When all the TYGs meet at an event to make all the regional decisions twice a year (at CMC and Spring Conclave). BYOC (bring your own comida).
NFTY Cheer : Self-explanatory, but CWR adds a little something to the end.
NFTY Note : A way to let someone know how much fun you had at the event without actually talking to them. They will be passed out Sunday morning for 1 for 25¢ or 5 for $1. It’s for a good cause…
Ruach: Soul, spirit, “the stuff”… call it what you will, CWR has a plethora.
