Noah Schenirer
President
CWR-President@nfty.org

Responsibilities: Liaison to Regional Advisor and other adult leadership. Oversees all activities of Regional Board members. Mentors all TYG presidents.

Having already become the youngest person to certify for both cave spelunking and deep sea diving at the age of 17, Noah Schenirer has recently accepted the role of 2011-2012 NFTY-CWR President. When not advertising the wonders of NFTY culture, Noah enjoys chilling with friends, being a CIT at URJ Camp Newman, and going to the occasional services to brush up on his Hebrew. Above all, he loves to read; he has been seen reading anything from Japanese police novels to Puritan wives’ tales. Always on the cutting edge of fashion, he is a pioneer of a new age: The Age of Accepting One’s Self. Noah has learned from his heroes (David Schenirer and Martin Luther King) that to lead you must first serve and has taken the message to heart as he is never afraid to do what is right. Ultimately, Noah is an unbreakable enigma of a Mensch, yet he aspires to greatness and will no doubt find himself serving as President of the United States in the near future.

Danny Robinow
Programing Vice President
CWR-PVP@nfty.org

Responsibilities: Oversees all regional programming. Chooses which programs from our region will continue on to compete in the national Tikkun Olam Award. Mentors all TYG programming vice presidents.

Danny Robinow has been to the peak of Mount Everest, swam the Great Barrier Reef, and debated with the Dalai Lama. He holds the record for highest parachute jump, can eat a teaspoon of cinnamon in under a minute, and advised J.K. Rowling on the ending of Harry Potter. He is The Most Interesting PVP in the world! He handles a mean Frisbee and keeps his academics Jewish at Jewish Community High School of the Bay while writing NFTY CWR programs with ease! Last, but never least, Danny is a hardcore Giants fan and bleeds orange and black for his favorite Bay Area team.

“I don’t always write programs, but when I do, the Central West Region goes crazy for them” – Danny Robinow

Talia Gilbert, savior of the world. When not saving the sea lions down by the bay, you can find her helping any of the numerous causes that help to inspire others. Jared Swezey-Gleason
Religious and Cultural Vice President
CWR-RCVP@nfty.org

Responsibilities: Organizes regional services and Torah studies. Brings elements of Jewish and Israeli culture to the region. Mentors all TYG religious and cultural vice presidents.

Some may call Michael Jared Sweezey-Gleason a social butterfly. However, being the strongest man on regional board, weighing in at 210 pounds with 95 percent muscle, I would call Jared a social lion. He is a well-rounded athlete, excelling in a variety of sports including wrestling, karate, and even wrestling. In fact, his dream in life is to eventually become a famous heavy weight W.W.E. wrestler named Jared “Sweezey- Smash!” Gleason and finally defeat his arch nemesis, champion wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, currently notorious for playing the classic sensitive tough guy in children’s movies. But, wrestling isn’t the only thing he’s good at. If Jared’s not busy destroying someone in the ring, you can probably assume he’s writing a service, and believe me, nobody writes services like this man. Jared can write a service with more precision than Rachel Ray can bake a chicken potpie. In fact, some may start to cry during Jared’s services out of sheer appreciation for beauty. Take that as a warning C-Dub.

Maya Grossman
Membership Vice President
CWR-MVP@nfty.org

Responsibilities: Writes all regional mixers; oversees all regional retention projects. Mentors all TYG membership vice presidents.

Someone once said, “With great power comes great responsibility.” That person was Spiderman’s uncle, but it just as easily could have been Maya Grossman! This fun-loving devoted NFTY-ite knows exactly what it means to be a leader. Over the last year Maya has spent a semester on NFTY-EIE High School in Israel, was a CIT at her home away from home, Camp Newman, and is now back in San Mateo to start her senior year at Aragon High School and her senior year in NFTY! When she’s not tending to her pet barracuda, Maya plays on her school’s water polo and wrestling teams and loves being a vegetarian. On the real though, Maya is ridiculously excited to get to know all of you and serve as your 2011-2012 Membership Vice President!

Jason Rosenblum
Communications Vice President
CWR-CVP@nfty.org

Responsibilities: Takes minutes at all regional executive and general board meetings, handles all correspondence between regional board and the rest of the community, assists regional advisor with data entry. Mentors all TYG Communication Vice Presidents.

Jason "The Real Slim Shady" Rosenblum used to have dreads, but now he's just a nice, short-haired guy living in San Jose. Among Jason's favorite activities are rapping Eminem, practicing the trombone, and bonding with his dog, Keira. Jason looks forward to taking pictures of every member of the Central West Region at all times during every event. When he's not doing things related to communications, he sits in his room eating Yofi Tofi and cries about how much he misses Israel. Alas, when Jason remembers how excited he is to be on the CWR board he wipes away his tears and gets to being the board member he has always dreamed to be. Every C-Dubstepper should get excited for Jason's one-of-a-kind videos and flyers this year, oh, and make sure to give him a big hug and say wassup!

Samara Leader
Regional Advisor
NFTYCWR@urj.org

Many think they know the smiling and iconic Samara Leader, however few are privy to the details of her secret life as a crime fighter-vigilante extraordinaire. By day Samara works as the ever organized NFTY CWR advisor, but at night she transforms into her alter ego, “The Frisbee of Freedom”. She prowls the darkest corners of the region and conquers evil with two abilities: projecting deadly lasers from her eyes and throwing frisbee shaped projectiles to a maximum of 700 yards. Though all criminals within the hallowed Central West Region fear the glint of her shining samurai armor, Samara is beloved by NFTY-ites everywhere as she is refreshingly friendly and incredibly easy to talk to. Remember region, never fear-Samara is here.

  Extended Board

The NFTY-CWR extended board is a group of teens who are devoted to their temple youth groups and are interested in taking on a greater leadership role within the region. Extended board members apply after LTI and are appointed before Fallinter. Click here for application information!
