The goal of a flier is to get the information about your TYGs upcoming event out to your TYG members and potential member. The flier should inspire people to come to the event and get them excited for the experience. You need to include all of the details of the event without making the flier too wordy or boring. Make sure that you get all of the important information down, the most important aspects should be the parts of the flier that stand out most, usually the biggest.
Basic things to remember when creating a flier:
1) Remember the 5 W’s and the lonely H
- Who: who is hosting the event? Who is invited? Who do you RSVP to?
- What: What is happening at the event? What is the events purpose?
- Where: Where will the event be taking place?
- When: When is the event taking place? When are the deadlines to RSVP?
- Why: Why should people want to come to the event?
- How: How can people sign up?
2) Make it catchy
- Contrasting colors
- Multiple fonts
- Large lettering and different size lettering
3) Make it clear
- Avoid acronyms (if new members are looking at the flier they might now know what it means)
