Before I say anything else, allow me to say mazel mazel, good things!!! The position of president may be no walk in the park, but let me tell you from personal experience that it is incredibly rewarding. It’s one of those feelings that’s impossible to describe, but I promise that once you run your first successful event, you’ll know exactly what I mean. Some of you may remember last year when I compared the regional board to a finely tuned guitar. I proposed that while each board member, or “string”, makes his/her own note, together they make the “chord” of an event…and it is the president that keeps them in tune. If you’ll allow me, I’d like to take this nauseating analogy a step further. If we are the guitar, then you guys are the power source that keeps CWR region running, and together we make this region rock! Hahahaaa I hope you got as much entertainment out of reading that as I did writing it. But in all seriousness, without you, our region would be absolutely nothing, so take a moment and give yourself a pat on the back.
I know that this year in Central West is going to be unbelievable, but remember that we’re all in this together. Please know that I am here for you, and that we are all here for each other as a network. An unbelievable year in Central West entails more than just regional events. Our region would be nothing more than an acronym without you, the TYG’s, so therefore, a successful year in CWR must also be a successful year for you. In order for that to happen, we must cohesively work together as a network. Together, we can figure out what is effective, what isn’t, and what direction we want to take the region. That is why it is important for us to communicate both broadly as a region, and more specifically as a network. This will facilitate growth within our region, which I’m fairly certain is fair to claim as a common goal.
Speaking of communication…let’s start doing it! I know you are all awesome at what you do, that’s why you were elected, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with asking questions. Sometimes simply discussing something will spur a domino effect of thought that will solve your issue. Also, I hope you find this resource section useful…there’s a lot of good stuff here, so make sure to browse around!
