President's Forum

On one hand, the president delegates the responsibilities, and thus does nothing. On the other hand, however, the president is aware of all that happens, ensuring that all jobs are accomplished, and thus does everything.

The President as the Supervisor
• Coordinates and relays information within the board, the TYG, the congregation, and the NFTY region
• Is informed of all programming and events
• Ensures that work is being done by all board members
• Serves as liaison between the TYG and the congregation and between the TYG and the advisor

The President as the Delegator
• The president should delegate phone calls, event coordination, etc. This gives others programming experience, leadership training, and a chance to become involved. A president cannot do all of the work.
• Utilize the strengths of each board member.
• Be aware of how much work people are doing. Don’t “overload” any of the board members. Make them feel comfortable coming to you if they are overwhelmed.

You’re Not In This Alone!

Whose Here to Help:

Regional President
• Do not hesitate to let me know how things are going. I love hearing about your TYGs and helping you with problems. If there’s anything I can do, please let me know.

The Presidents’ Network
• All of the presidents in the region make up the presidents’ network. Communication with these people will allow you to discuss solutions to challenges that every TYG confronts, share ideas, and plan events with each other.

The Regional Board
• All of the regional board members are dedicated to serving you. They are a great resource—if you need assistance with services, contact the RCVP. If you’re interested in new and innovative programming, speak to the PVP. If you’d like an opinion on your new social action event, discuss it with the SAVP. Again, as your regional president, I also always here for you.
