Shalom and welcome to NFTY's New York Area Region! NFTY-NAR brings together Reform Jewish Teens from New York City, the Westchester/Fairfield area, Long Island, and tropical Puerto Rico. Our members come together at many times during the year for learning, fun, worship, community service, and fellowship to help young Jewish adults throughout the region build and strengthen lifetime ties with each other and Reform Judaism.

Hey NFTY-NAR! The Jaffa Institute is a private, non-profit, multi-service social agency in Israel that assists thousands of severely disadvantaged children and their families. The Jaffa Institute addresses a plethora of issues in Israeli society, including immigrant integration, poverty, and education. Through all of its projects, it works to maintain a sense of dignity and self-identity for all those who benefit from it. Our region piloted a North American initiative for NFTY regions to create partnerships with grassroots organizations in Israel, and we selected this amazing organization as a fantastic beginning for the project. The NFTY-NAR regional board encourages you to visit this website and to learn more about our partner in Israel, as well as all of the wonderful programs it offers. Try to relate to the many people who utilize the resources of this organization, and try to connect to their lives. Explore the website, watch the touching videos, and spread awareness about its cause. As we often say, “Mitzvah goreret mitzvah,” or “ One mitzvah leads to another mitzvah.” This is a call for all of us to understand Israel more deeply, and to spawn our own chain of mitzvot.
