EMILY LEVINE, TeCSY

Hi! I’m Emily TeCSY Levine and I am so honored to your 2012-2013 NFTY-NE President-elect. For the past three years, I have been a dedicated TeCSY board member, serving as NFTY Representative and Membership VP. I hope to bring the same enthusiasm to our region that I have brought to TeCSY. Along with NFTY, I’m involved in theatre, mock trial, and marching band. Some things that make me smile are my pet turtle, watching Gilmore Girls, and cooking with my mom.

MALLORY COHEN, BATY

My name is Mallory Cohen and I’m from Framingham, MA where I have served on BATY’s board for the past three years. I’m a dancer and that’s my favorite activity to do after school. I’ve spent the past nine summers at Camp Pembroke, where I’m now a counselor and sailing instructor. NFTY has made such an impact on me and I’m looking forward to getting the chance to give back as LVP in the coming year.

ANDREW CARROLL, TeBDY

My name is Andrew Carroll and I currently serve as the TeBDY president. I have a passion for three things in life; intellectual conversation, food, and NFTY. I live for the extracurricular activities I am involved in. I have taken leadership roles in our high school’s Young Democrats chapter, ENOUGH, and the Model United Nations club. I have attended Jewish overnight camp for the past 6 years and love to share my Jewish experiences with others.

ALIA DEGEN, Shalomites
Hi everyone, my name is Alia Degen and I am from Groton, Massachusetts. For the past two years I have been the Social Action VP on Shalomites board. When I am not at school or asleep, I am probably at my job at Dunkin Donuts. My favorite things are cats, babies, naps, puddles, apples, Thai food, and my kitty Toonces. I traveled to Israel last summer on EIE, and it Israeli hot.

HEATHER SHORE, PROVTY

Hi NFTY NE! I’m a junior at North Attleboro High School. I’m super involved in my school’s theater company, and although I’m definitely at home in the lighting booth, I’ve also done just about everything on both the tech and acting sides. I’m also part of the varsity gymnastics team and music department. I’ve been the RCVP of PROVTY for the past two years, and am looking forward to bringing what I’ve learned about the position so far to the whole region.

Hi my name is Elena Soyer and I'm running for Financial & Membership Vice President. I'm a member of BELY and have been on the board since eighth grade and this past year I have been co-president. I play field hockey and ultimate frisbee, which I am absolutely obsessed with, and I love NFTY!

MICHAEL KALMANS, BIFTY

Hello Everyone! My name is Michael BIFTY Kalmans and I am so incredibly, ecstatic to have been elected as the 2012-2013 NFTY-NE Corresponding Secretary. As a current president of BIFTY and with my years as a camper at URJ Crane Lake Camp, I would love to bring my positive spirit, open mind, and genuine smile to help our NFTY-NE community continue to foster. Some unexpected delights of mine are watching Jersey Shore, singing James Taylor while doing my homework, and making people laugh with my numerous facial expressions!

Recording Secretary-elect

MICHAEL BERKSON, BATY

Michael Berkson is thrilled to be elected as the NFTY-NE Recording Secretary for 5773. Michael currently serves as BATY RCVP and a temple songleader. He loved being a PC at December Institute, and he spent 5 weeks in a leadership program in Israel last summer with his camp. Outside of the temple, Michael can be found in his school’s music wing, singing acappella or playing one of several instruments including saxophone and tuba.

Hi, my name is Nathaniel Altman and I am from Andover, Massachusetts. I am part of the youth group TEMTY. I am currently serving as the NFTY Rep of my TYG. I am a junior at Andover High School and I play football for my school. I went to URJ Crane Lake Camp for 3 summers and went on the NFTY in Israel trip with Crane Lake over the summer.

Hi NFTY! My name is Erica Burke and I enjoy Spongebob, sushi, NFTY-NE events, lacrosse, and nutella. I have a dog named Kitty and love reading on my kindle. If it weren’t for NFTY, I wouldn’t have had the chance to spend the second semester of my junior year in Israel and definitely wouldn’t be the person I am today
