Shani Jo Fox is ecstatic to be NFTY-NEL's President for the 2008-2009 school year. She is going into her senior year at Beachwood High School in Cleveland, Ohio. She has previously served as NEL's RCVP and songleader. In her TYG, CLEFTY, she is CVP and has been newspaper editor as well as PVP. In her spare time (not that she has very much) she plays volleyball and swims on her school teams, she does her homework, she plays her guitar, and she loves playing with dogs even though she does not have a dog of her own. Shani knows that her life would be completely different without youth group, and truly believes that the friends you make in NFTY are the friends you have forever

Jonathan Newburgh is in Grade 11 at Iroquois Ridge High School in Oakville, Ontario. His home congregation is Sha'arei Beth El Congregation, where he has been a part of Hoochy’s executive board as the Communications Vice President, Programming Vice President and President. During first semester of grade 11, he attended NFTY’s High School in Israel (Eisendrath International Exchange) and cannot wait until he can make his return.

My name is Erin Dessau and for those of you who don't know me, I am your Regional Social Action Vice President for 2008-2009, and I couldn't be more excited! I am 16 and go to Westmount Colligate Institute where I am in 10th grade. I belong to MHarZY, Temple Har Zion in Thornhill, Ontario where I am extremely active in every way possible. I am currently completely my last and final year at religious school, confirmation. Some things that I love to do our play sports including football, volleyball and basketball, dance, drama, and of course NEL! Ariel Hannah Madway, NEL’s 5768-5769 Religious and Cultural Vice President, has lived in the not-so-sunny city of Rochester, NY her whole life. She has previously served as NEL newspaper editor and RCVP at her local TYG (the fabulous RATSY). A grade 11 at Brighton High School, Ariel swims for her school team and is very active at her temple. When she has time, she also enjoys reading, writing and watching movies. Her all-time favorite book is Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women and some of her favorite movies include Mean Girls, 10 Things I Hate About You, A Walk to Remember, and RENT.
