Dear NFTY,
The Presidential election is just one month away. On November 4, 2008, we - the Jewish young adults of America and the great alumni of our organization - will have a voice in changing the course of history. Dramatic as that may seem, it is critical to understand the importance of being knowledgeable about the candidates, their background, and their views. Only once we have that information can we make a fair decision about who we choose to support.
Realistically, as a high school or college student, it is difficult to have enough free time to do research on each candidate. With that in mind, we’ve compiled sources and information that we feel are worthwhile to explore. Feel free to take a look at each of the sections and find out more beyond just what’s written. Form opinions, make decisions, and create an identity. Enjoy!
We also encourage you to visit the remarkable resources provided by our partners at the Religious Action Center for Reform Judaism. The RAC's Get Out The Vote 2008 Guide is full of additional information pertinent to the election.
And if you are on Facebook, please join the group called NFTYites Go To The Polls: Voice Your Choice. This is an open group for all NFTYites and NFTY Alumni who intend to go to the polls on November 4 so you can voice your choice.
And finally, it might not be too late to register to vote in your state. Visit http://www.vote-smart.org/voter_registration_resources.php to find out about Voter Registration in your part of the country.
L'Shalom,
Emily Harry, NFTY MCVP 2007-2008
