FUNDRAISING IS IMPORTANT
Here is a list of some of the things that require money when running a TYG:
· Cost for maintaining a TYG website (domain name, services of a webmaster, etc)
· Food for meetings and events
· Computer in the TYG office/ boardroom or lounge
· Making copies
· Tzedakah
· Supplies for events
· Supplement expensive group activities (renting out spaces, bowling, rock climbing, etc)
· Subsidize NFTYites who can’t afford to attend regional events
· Subsidize NFTYites who can’t afford to go to Israel, NFTY Convention, Kutz Camp, or other URJ Camp Institutes
· Pay for a speaker who charges a fee
· Decorate a “TYG Room” or Youth Lounge at your synagogue
· Special things for the TYG like a mascot, banner, etc.
· Thank-you gifts, hostess gifts, etc.
· Postage for fliers (in addition to posting fliers online)
· Cost of long-distance phone calls if your potential members reside in more than one area code (again, in addition to communicating with these members online)
