Being a member of the TYG Executive Board is an honor that comes with a great deal of responsibility. This manual includes valuable information about leadership, because leaders are not born, they’re made.
This manual also lists the responsibilities of each position on the Executive Board in detail, but it’s important to remember that regardless of our individual responsibilities, we are all a team. We must remember to support each other and work together, while recognizing each other’s strengths and weaknesses to continue to improve our TYG.
What should be most important to you is ensuring that people will succeed your term on board, so that once you leave your TYG it will still be active and provide Jewish teenagers with the opportunity for study, worship, and fellowship. One thing to keep in mind throughout the year: document important information that will be helpful for the next person who serves in your position. Write them a letter describing your time on Executive Board. List what helped you and your board be effective and what didn’t.
REMEMBER to have a great time too! Your enthusiasm attracts others and we want lots of people to know how great it is to be involved with our TYG!
