Nothing But Nets
Malaria kills. Nets save lives.
You can send a net. You can save a life.

MookieA Note from the NFTY SAVP:

Heyyy y'all,

I'm writing to you guys to talk about a new initiative NFTY is undertaking in partnership with the URJ this year...Nothing but Nets.

The Nothing but Nets initiative allows people to purchase mosquito nets for $10.00 for families in Africa to prevent Malaria. The main way malaria is spread is through infected mosquitos, so the most effective prevention is (besides bug spray) MOSQUITO NETS! As such, the URJ has taken on this initiative to raise money to buy families mosquito nets. Continue Reading...

Background

The Union for Reform Judaism has partnered with the Nothing But Nets campaign to combat the spread of malaria. Together, we hope to supply 50,000 insecticide-treated bed nets to families in sub-Saharan Africa, saving one family at a time, one net at a time.

Why get involved?

The pillars of Judaism are three-fold: commitment to Torah (lifelong Jewish learning), Avodah (worship of God through prayer and observance) and G’milut Hasadim (the pursuit of justice, peace and deeds of loving kindness). This third pillar is expressed by participating in social action efforts. The Reform Movement has made a commitment to working toward the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals to end global poverty and is acting on this commitment by partnering with Nothing But Nets to combat the spread of malaria.

Together we can make a difference. All it takes is $10 to buy a bed net and save lives.
