Take Action!

Action Items

The most important thing we can do is take action to make our world a better place!

Below you will find a list of opportunities and resources that will help you engage in Social Action.

Anti-Defamation League

The ADL is devoted to “stop the defamation of the Jewish people…to secure justice and fair treatment for all.”  Fear has contributed to a great deal of anti-Semitism.  The ADL has great links on action you can take to combat anti-Semitism, misconceptions and media bias.

American Civil Liberties Union

The ACLU’s stated mission is "to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to every person in this country by the Constitution and laws of the United States."  While you may not agree with their stances on all issues, they have great resources and action alerts that fit perfectly with the action theme.

Take Action to Stop the Genocide in Darfur

The Save Darfur Coalition, in cooperation with over 150 faith-based, advocacy, and humanitarian aid organizations, including the Reform Jewish Movement, has launched the Million Voices for Darfur campaign - an unprecedented effort to raise awareness of the genocide taking place in Darfur and promote the actions necessary to end it.

Do you think NFTY’s perfect?  I sure hope not.  If you have issues with something going on in NFTY, or ideas for how we could be doing social action more effectively, please click on the link above and send NFTY’s SAVP your constructive criticism.  If its something regional, give your SAVP a shout first – their email will be regionabbreviation-savp@urj.org (i.e. NFTY-NEL’s savp would be nel-savp@urj.org)
