BESHTY is a family like youth group that is based in Santa Monica. Our temples name is Beth Shir Sholom. We have had our Ups and Downs but in the end we all know we can lean on our second family. Over the past couple years our NFTY participance has improved immensely! We went from 2 members at most of the events to about 11 now. NFTY focuses on building life long relationships with people and the world and BESHTY is carrying that philosophy into our Youth Group

Our youth group is filled with dedicated teens with a desire to stay active in our Jewish community and with an eagerness to make the world a better place. JSTY is the senior youth group at Temple Judea, and has an event at least every month! Each year, more and more people go to the very creative events, such as Snow Conclave (a weekend in Big Bear), a Limo/Party Bus Scavenger Hunt, Halloween Horror Nights, GoKarting and Benihana’s, a King’s game, and so much more. In JSTY, everyone is great friends with each other, and always very welcoming to anyone that comes to events!

Calabasas - Congregation Or Ami
LoMPTY is the high school youth group for Congregation Or Ami in Calabasas. Until 2009, it lacked the ruach to be attract a big crowd. However, with the determination of a new board, this “one of a kind” youth group took off. With growth in both membership and experience, LoMPTY has put together a streak of successful events. In March of 2011, LoMPTY hosted the first ever TYG Olympics. This inaugural event brought together 17 of the SoCal region’s most skilled youth groups for a series of creative events. From human foosball to the NFTY-favorite, Lap Tag, this youth group event was filled with excitement! Known throughout SoCal for its massive potato mascot, the LoMPTY youth group has become a key component of the NFTY Southern California region!

This TYG was started about 3 years ago by a group of mostly freshman, two of which were Alyssa Magier and Zack Robinson. We have now expanded exponentially. Most of our members go to NFTY events, we host Jew Years Eve (one of the biggest events in NFTY Socal) and have even added a Mini TASTY CC so we can give the younger kids a chance to have fun while also prepping them to join our amazing youth group. NFTY focuses on having fun and saving the future simultaneously, and we are doing a spectacular job of that here at TASTY CC.

WBTY is a fun, large TYG in which members can hang out every Wednesday night and/or Sunday morning. Here are some fun facts about WBTY that we would like to share with all of you ☺. Wilshire Boulevard Temple is the largest reform synagogue west of the Mississippi River. Our fun, spunky board comes up with events such as pool parties, late night bowling and a soon to come Social Action Day. We have worked this year with the temple’s administration to further youth participation and to make sure that our generation has a say in the future. We enjoy cookies, sea-lion costumes and a dance from the British version of the Office, which can be seen at any event when music is playing. We all love NFTY, and we hope you have a WBTY dooo day.

WTY (Wise Temple Youth) is a TYG in process. This year we had our first elections for board and a slight increase in membership. With our president, Hannah DuBow, and our advisor, Justin Shabsis, things are looking up. We are planning on having several events this year and many more to come!
