Candidates for President

Hi! I’m Spencer Winson, a 17 year old junior. I’m a passionate teen who participates all over, at school, in TCTY, and in my community, putting my whole into everything I do. I moved from Minnesota after eighth grade and now go to Rancho Solano Prep! I’m a huge Britney Spears fan, cross country captain, hard working student, and an early sleeper! Ever since attending Fall Kallah my freshman year, I have been in love with NFTY SW and the amazing community it provides!

Eliana Ward-Lev: I am enthusiastic, persistent, and quirky. My interests include taking inventory on the fire trucks at the department I volunteer for, debating with my friends about health care, interning for my local Senator, swimming, writing resolutions for Model UN, practicing Beethoven’s 3rd on my oboe, being on the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Board, hanging out with friends, spending time at the Temple, or curled up in a corner reading a good book. I am passionate about many things including education, making sure everyone has access to good health care and playing music. However, my greatest passion is for NFTY and everything that arises from it. I live and die N-F-T-Y, and I hope you do, too!

Hi, my name is Rachel Goldberg and I am a junior in TCTY. I’ve spent my life in Phoenix growing up at Temple Chai with some of the people who are here now and are my closest friends. For the past three years I’ve been dedicating all of my time to TCTY, NFTY-SW, Camp Swift, and school. I’m the type of girl who will take any challenge no matter how difficult and will do everything I can to help with the things I am most passionate about. I put all my effort into everything thing I do and this upcoming year I want to lead the region that I fell in love with. I’ll be there for anyone who needs a friend and I promise to be fully committed to NFTY-SW.

My name is Cullin Coyle, I am currently the MVP for TASTY in Albuquerque and I have also previously served as PVP for my youth group. The experience that I have has lead me to believe that I can effectively serve the NFTY-SW community as President. I work at the ski area close to my home and also do landscaping/contracting work during the summer. I like to compete in ultimate frisbee, I have a passion for cooking and I have extensive experience in the debate world through the team at my school. Thanks for your consideration!

Candidates for Programming Vice-President

Matthew Wall is a junior at Chaparral High School. He loves playing basketball, acting, guitar, but most of all, he loves programs. After attending Kutz Camp in the Mitzvah Corps Major this summer, Matthew not only learned leadership skills, but also how to be a team player. He loved this camp so much he will be returning for a second year. Currently, Matthew serves as PVP of KATY. When he is not hanging out at his temple every Sunday night, you can probably find him watching Burn Notice or skyping with those quality NFTY folk. Judaism is a huge part of his life enjoying KATY, religious school, guitar, and Hebrew High. Creativity, passion, and a strong desire to teach are his main goals. Matthew would love to further his ambitions by becoming a part of the NFTY South West Regional Board and being elected as Programming Vice President.

Hellloooo NFTY-SW! My name is Julie Kline and I’m running to be your Programming Vice President for the 2012-2013 school year. I am a junior, President of TCTY and go to Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, AZ. I like to hang out with my (NFTY & TCTY) friends, listen to the wonderful Taylor Swift, volunteer and help others whenever I can, play guitar and Scramble with Friends (with Lynne Butner), be a part of my school’s Student Government and NHS, and smile. I have made the best of friends and have learned so much by being in our region and am only hoping I can give back to all of you. I am so excited to be a candidate for this position and can hardly wait for another amazing year. See you all soon!

Candidates for Social Action Vice-President

Oh hey there! I'm Melanie Shapiro and I'm a candidate for the Social Action Vice President of NFTY-SW! I hail from Temple Mount Sinai down in the west Texas town of El Paso and I am a junior at Coronado High School.

I am a die hard NFTYite, social action enthusiast, and a total forensics nerd. You basically could say that NFTY and debate are my life. Camp Swift also holds a very important place in my heart and I am a member of this year's programming board. I'm absolutely obsessed with Twitter, all things purple, and snuggies (mine is purple with rainbow peace signs on it because I just have that much swag). I absolutely love being friends with absolutely everyone and making new friends. Hugging and cuddling are the way to my heart. If we aren't already friends, please let's become friends. Never hesitate to facebook, tweet, skype, text, or even mail me. Let's make this a fabulous year guys!

Hi, I’m Maddy Ginis and I’m running for your Social Action Vice President. I am currently a junior at Pinnacle High School in Arizona, and President of TSTY. One of my passions is spending time with children and in my free time I enjoy babysitting, working at The Solel Preschool, and volunteering for Camp Swift. I’m hoping to share my love of volunteering and helping others with NFTY-SW this year and empower others to go out and do what I love doing! I love going to basketball and football games with my family and rocking out at concerts with some of my best friends! I love laughing and telling funny jokes! I am looking forward to another fabulous year in NFTY!

Candidates for Religious & Cultural Vice-President

Miranda Rosen dreams of nothing more than to become best friends with you, and she probably has awkwardly introduced herself to you trying to transform this dream into a reality. She can be found laughing at jokes that really aren’t that funny, getting an average of 90 per game while she’s bowling, or contemplating the meaning of life while eating Oreos. Practically any person who has talked to Miranda for more than five minutes can tell you that NFTY is her obsession, and being a part of NFTY-SW is probably the most important and wonderful thing in her life. She is dedicated, hard-working, creative, and would love to serve you as your Religious and Cultural Vice President.

My name is Cody Rosen, and I am currently the TCTY RCVP. I enjoy long walks on the beach, tanning in the sun, and jamming out on guitar! I love spending time with my fellow NFTY-ites and sharing prayer and song with everyone. These NFTY years have been some of the best years of my life.

Candidates for Membership Vice-President

Hello my wonderful NFTY- SWites! My name is Jordan Weissman. I am the current SAVP of TSTY and the former Freshman Representative. I have been a part of NFTY since SAW my Freshman year. I’m 16 years old; my birthday is August 24th and I enjoy presents. I am the middle child of two sisters. New Jersey is where I originated from. I am super involved in Student Government at Pinnacle High School. I am ready to put my 100% into this position and our region!

Carson Miller is fun, energetic and enthusiastic about life. If she's not out on the fields participating in sports you can find her speaking at the legislature about the importance of good nutrition, up on the mountain, participating in National Honor Society or Amnesty International, hanging out with friends, or spending time with friends at temple. Carson has served as a youth advisory member of a national board fighting childhood obesity, and was named One of The 10 Most Inspiring Women of the Decade by President Clinton for this work in 2011. While all of these things are fun and keep Carson busy, her biggest passion is NFTY. Carson is always talking to someone from NFTY, and looks forward to each regional event. Go ahead, ask her how many days until Spring Kallah. She'll tell you.

Hi, my name is Alisha Glass and I would be honored to serve as your 2012-2013 Membership Vice President! I'm currently a junior at Desert Vista High School and I am on the Badminton and Track and Field teams as well as a member of Key Club. I am a proud NFTY member and I have been one since 9th grade and I have also been a TETY member since 6th grade. I love NFTY and TETY and the friends I have made are irreplaceable.

I am running for board because I love being involved and I feel that MVP is the position that fits me best! NFTY has given me so much and I want to help give back and what better way to do that then by serving on regional board. I am easy to work with and I have several great ideas to help make the next year in NFTY amazing. Now all I need is your help, vote for me for MVP!

Candidates for Communications Vice-President

Hi, I'm Kenny Levy and I am a strong leader and very involved in my community.

I am currently the president of the Jewish Youth of Pinnacle at school and I also hold the position of College Connections on the general board for TCTY. I love being involved in social action projects such as the annual food drive at Temple Chai over the high holy days.

I would like to be your NFTY-SW Communications Vice President because I think that it would be a great way to stay connected with all of my NFTY friends and make some new ones.

I'm Jordan Goldstein and, well, I'm a little hard to miss.  I like anything chocolate, kittens, neon colors, guitars, music, and, most of all, NFTY-SW! You can usually find me at any sort of Jewish event trying to make new friends, dancing like an idiot, or jamming out with some other song leaders.  If that doesn't work, you'll probably hear me before you see me, anyway.  Judaism is what I live for, and (hopefully) becoming a part of our regional board will make it even more amazing.
